• Mindfulness is a therapeutic practice which enables the person to engage...

with their mind and body and can help to manage and reduce anxiety, pain and depression.

  • What is Mindfulness?
    It is an awareness
    practice.

Allows you to live in the moment, rather than always being caught up in your thoughts.

  • Why Mindfulness meditation? It explores your emotions, sensations & thoughts.

This exploration gives yourself permission to gently stretch and explore these areas.

8 week course specifically for a group

Sara has taught specific groups; such as colleges and people with persistent pain and will be very happy to set up an introduction of mindfulness or an 8 week course specifically for a group.

The biopsychosocial model for persistent pain is well known and recognised within the medical world.

Sara has a broad base of knowledge as a physiotherapist as well as a mindfulness teacher to support this group of patients who are so challenged by pain.

About Sara Stobart Mindfulness.

Sara is a retired Chartered Physiotherapist working in private practice in Street, Somerset. She has worked in the field of complex pain for many years and gained a Psychology degree in 2016 which has allowed her to broaden her understanding of how people cope with pain and stress. More recently Sara has accomplished a masters degree in Mindfulness.

Education.

It seemed a natural progression then for Sara to embark on a master’s degree at Bangor University in Mindfulness. She is now finishing her third year of study and completing her teaching level 2.

What she can do for you.

She can now offer the 8 week MBSR (Mindfulness based stress reduction) course as well as introductory courses to the general public.

Knowledge.

She feels she has a broad base of knowledge now, both medical and psychological, which offers her participants breadth in the subject of Mindfulness.

  • I have known Sara for many years. Firstly, as a physiotherapist and teacher of Pilates and more recently as a teacher of Mindfulness. I attended Sara’s 8 week course on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

Mindfulness was a new area to me and I felt a little apprehensive. However, I had every confidence as I knew Sara well that she would provide a rational, caring and supportive approach. As indeed she did. I found the course challenging at times but helpful. I have been able subsequently to apply and use many of the techniques I learnt.

I would recommend this course and Sara as a teacher.

  • Sara is an empathetic and professional teacher. I felt safe in her classes and found the sessions have help me in my day to day life.

  • As a long term sufferer of chronic pain I had been interested in exploring mindfulness for a while to see if it could help with both pain and stress. When I heard about Sara’s 8 week course I went along not knowing what to expect but hoping to gain an understanding of what mindfulness was about and how to use it.

Each week Sara talked us through the theory behind mindfulness in order to understand the principles and she also led us in different types of meditation practice with the opportunity to ask questions and share and discuss our experience within the group if we wanted to. The course was a great introduction and really delivered an understanding of how being mindful can be used and help in coping with everyday life. I now use the techniques regularly and am looking forward to continuing with Sara’s weekly classes to build on the skills I have learned.
